The ATAR and the Aftermath
One day, a girl named Jessica woke up on December the 13th, anxiously waiting for her high school results, which come in the form of the Dreaded ATAR. Now the Dreaded ATAR was something many of her schoolmates joked about, made Year 12 videos out of, but ultimately feared.
And it was on this morning, that she'd find out the numbers that would determine where she would go to next year in terms of University.
She got her mother to look at her results, since she was a wuss and always had other people to look at her scores first before looking at them herself (like with English SACs).
Results 2010
VCE: S ATAR: 96.20
AC03: A+, A+, A, Study Score: 39
EC03: B+, A+, A SS: 36
EN01: A+, A+, A+ SS: 42
LS03:A, A, A SS: 37
From this text message, she could only conclude that:
1) She sucked at the subjects she enjoyed.
2) She was too lazy and not that bright.
3) Her best raw was English (WTF).
Her mother, upon looking at said scores, was then entitled to give her "You should listen to us adults" speech.
Jessica was so happy that she went to work, quite cheery too. But made an awful lot of mistakes and learnt lessons such as "CR is not Cheque, but CHQ is Cheque" and "Never leave one person at the counter alone".
She later met up with Maggie to see Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. In 3D because there were no 2D screenings. With only 10 minutes, they quickly headed to Woolworths (RUNNING THROUGH WESTFIELD LIKE MADWOMEN ON RUNNING MAN), bought a few movie nibbles and headed back to the cinema, panting.
She thought it was pretty good, a little anticlimatic, but overall a movie worth watching.
Her mother and sister had a surprise prepared for her upon her arrival home.

:)
Hoorah!
